Punta Cana Adventure Parks: Scape Park, El Dorado or Bávaro?

6 min read

The short answer

For the broadest mix, choose Scape Park. Families who mainly want slides and pools should choose El Dorado; Bávaro Adventure Park fits groups that want buggies and zip lines in one ticket, provided everyone is at least 1.30 m tall and the buggy drivers are 18 or over with a valid driving licence. Three parks create three different days

Scape Park packs eight zip lines, exotic animals, a cenote and Iguabonita Cave into seven hours, with hotel transfer included. El Dorado is structured more clearly as a water park: kayaking, a zip line, cenote, slides and a lazy river share the visit, again with hotel transfer from the Punta Cana and Bávaro area. Bávaro Adventure Park puts buggies, ziplining, horseback riding and a swim in the Blue Lagoon on a six-hour full-access ticket that includes a Dominican lunch (without drinks). Scape has the broadest nature-and-adventure mix, El Dorado the strongest conventional water-park programme, and Bávaro the only buggy combination among these three.

Who should rule out each park

Visitors interested mainly in slides and floating along a river would pay for caves, animals and an extensive zip-line circuit at Scape Park. El Dorado cannot satisfy a group that considers a motorised off-road ride essential. Bávaro’s full-access ticket makes sense only when buggies, zip line and lagoon all appeal; it is overly broad for a simple swimming day. All three parks exclude pregnant women. Bávaro sets the firmest limits: everyone must be at least 1.30 m tall and no heavier than 130 kg, passengers must be at least six, and buggy drivers must be 18 or over and show a valid driving licence. Scape Park excludes people over 70 and people with heart problems, high blood pressure, mobility impairments or pre-existing medical conditions; El Dorado excludes people with back or heart problems.

The recommendation

For the broadest mix, choose Scape Park. Families who mainly want slides and pools should choose El Dorado; Bávaro Adventure Park fits groups that want buggies and zip lines in one ticket, provided everyone is at least 1.30 m tall and the buggy drivers are 18 or over with a valid driving licence.
